Legislative Update / 3 Bills Heard Next Week!

HB 258 (Tax Credit for recycling electronic waste) and HB 259 (To make gray water systems legal in Montana) have been introduced and are both scheduled for hearing next week.

HB 258 will be heard by the House Taxation Committee on Monday (Jan. 22) at 9am. HB 259 will be heard the House Natural Resources Friday (Jan. 26) at 3pm.

Here are S.A.V.E.’s fact sheets for Gray Water and Electronics Recycling relating to these bills.

Also, we have added HB 303 to our list of bills to support. It will be heard next Friday (Jan 26) in House Transportation.
HB 303 would require recyled glass in State Highway projects." This bill states that, whenever possible and feasible, local, state, and federal highway projects should use post-consumer recycled glass. The large amount of highway construction in this state would provide a great market for recycled glass. The fiscal note for the bill is zero dollars.

Please contact us if you would like to write a letter of support, contact your legislators, testify, or otherwise work with us to promote this legislation.

Thank!
