Recycling Update / Plastics Recycling Dec 7-14

Recycling update:

At The S.A.V.E. Foundation’s 4th Birthday Bash last week, we celebrated our successes in bringing recycling and environmental awareness to Helena. Community participation and support allows S.A.V.E. to have a large impact. Growing Friends and S.A.V.E. provided Trash for Trees, which had a fall record of nearly 80,000 pounds of material recycled. Trash for Trees is made possible by the support of the City of Helena, City-County Sanitation, Pacific Steel & Recycling, and The Good Samaritan.

We would also like the thank the sponsors of Erase your E*waste, which collected 80,000 pounds of electronic waste last month. The Helena Transfer Station, City-County Sanitation, Montana Department of Environmental Quality, Lewis & Clark City-County Health Department, Lewis & Clark Water Quality Protection District, Lewis & Clark Landfill, and Pacific Steel & Recycling benefited hundreds of Helenans.

The next plastics collection week is Dec. 7-14 next to Centennial Field. We will be accepting type 1 clear, type 2 clear and type 2 color plastic containers. Please remove lids and rinse bottles.
