Lewis and Clark County to Open a New Landfill

The newest landfill is dubbed Phase 3, part of a six phase plan to develop the county's landfill out on Deal Lane. The newest addition is 8.9 acres and approximately 40-50 feet deep. In total, the life expectancy of the landfill in total will be approximately 75 years thanks to innovations in storage techniques and technologies, such as impermeable liners and drainage systems. Along with waste storage, other businesses stand to profit from the new addition, including the glass pulverizing machinery run by Headwaters Recycling Cooperative and a tire recycling business.
